Air India partners with Global-C on First and Business tableware

As part of Air India’s onboard transformation, the airline has partnered with Global-C to develop a sleek collection of new First and Business Class tableware.

The bespoke collection aims to ‘capture the essence’ of Air India’s new brand identity, ‘The Vista’.

Developed for the new A350 aircraft launch, products include comprehensive dining service equipment in variety of materials.

A key feature is the use of a hybrid formula porcelain material in the ceramics. This material both enhances the whiteness and translucency of the ceramic body but also makes the articles extremely lightweight, resulting in environmental benefits such as less fuel burn and fewer emissions.

To add a touch of elegance, the chinaware is adorned with subtle brand elements including an intricate Mandala pattern and the iconic Maharaja in semi-matte gold and silver metallic decorations.

The durability and workmanship of the collection was independently tested and certified to ‘exceed’ international standards.

Also included in the collection are signature pieces that aim to introduce ‘moments of delight and surprise’ during the meal service. For example, the aubergine-coloured glass dessert/canapé plates and nut bowl add a pop of colour and sophistication to the dining experience.

The marble-look cheese plate was designed to add a touch of luxury to the presentation of cheese, while the the tiffin box-shaped salt and pepper metal cruet set, inspired by traditional Indian design, was designed to embody Air India’s new identity and service principles – reflecting their commitment to becoming a world-class airline with an Indian heart.

“Working with Air India on this project has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” said Anu Khosla, Regional Director Asia & Pacific, Global-C. “The collaboration with Air India allowed us to showcase our product design expertise, developing solutions for a very ambitious vision.

“Despite the challenging timelines for the launch of the A350 aircraft, we were able to deliver exceptional outcomes that met the high standards set by Air India.

“Part of the process included a design workshop, in Delhi, with the Air India team. During this time a true design collaboration took place, enabling efficient development of ideas and finalisation of the core design work.

“The attention to detail demanded by Air India pushed us to go above and beyond, resulting in a sophisticated and quintessentially Indian tableware collection. We are proud to have worked with Air India and contribute to their onboard transformation.”

Overall, the collection aims to redefined the premium dining experience for travellers that is not only elegant and luxurious but also reminiscent of the uniquely warm Indian hospitality.

Air India has also recently launched a new collection of luxury Ferragamo amenity kits and an upgraded Panasonic eX3 IFE system.
