British Airways rolls out summer menu

British Airways has unveiled a handful of holiday treats for its passengers this summer, including ice-cream, sparkling wine, seasonal menus and in-flight entertainment.

The airline is offering complimentary ice cream on daytime flights departing London Heathrow and London Gatwick before 5pm. British Airways has partnered with fellow British brand, Jude’s, to offer a range of flavours including Very Vanilla, Strawberries and Cream, Truly Chocolate and Salted Caramel.

The airline will also be re-introducing sparkling wine in its World Traveller Plus cabin from mid-July. Passengers in Club World (Business Class) can sample the Balfour Rosé de Noirs, whilst those in the First cabin can opt for the rosé blend Rock Angel. Those travelling on short-haul flights can try the Château d’Esclans’ creations.

A range of summer-inspired menus will be available across its cabins until September. Passengers in First can choose from prawn cocktail, grilled fillet of Atlantic halibut or berry bread and butter pudding. Those in World Traveller Plus can try calamarata pasta or raspberry panna cotta.

There will also be a roll out of seasonal entertainment content, including ‘Summer Fun’ and ‘Women in Sport’ movie categories, as well as a guide of exclusive ‘top tips’ for summer travel.

Calum Laming, Chief Customer Offer at British Airways said: “We know that so many of our customers have been looking forward to their summer holidays, so we’ve added these extra touches in time for summer to make their trips even more special.

“Each and every one of our customers are unique and have their own original reasons for travelling, so our fantastic colleagues will be on hand to bring some summer joy to our passengers, whether they’re visiting family, exploring a new part of the world or heading to the beach for a week in the sunshine.”

British Airways has recently announced plans for an exclusive Whispering Angel rosé bar at Heathrow Terminal 5.
