Etihad selects new catering management platform

Etihad Airways has selected Paxia Cloud as its catering management platform. The AI-enabled platform implements the full suite of Paxia applications, transforming the airline’s onboard catering, galley operations and enterprise asset management.

Etihad is continuing to invest in digital innovation and operational excellence to support its expanding global network and award-winning onboard experience. To enhance operational efficiency, data visibility and cross-functional collaboration, the Abu Dhabi-headquartered carrier chose Paxia’s cloud-based platform to replace its legacy catering management capabilities.

Under the agreement, Etihad will deploy the full Paxia Cloud suite, including schedules, orders, invoices and insights. The integrated platform will provide the airline with a centralised ecosystem to manage the full catering lifecycle, including menu specifications and meal ordering, galley planning, catering logistics, invoice reconciliation and asset tracking.

The purpose-built catering management platform is designed to enhance operational efficiency through integrated, AI-enabled functionality.

Paxia will help resolve issues with the incumbent legacy system and eliminate gaps currently addressed through manual processes.

Etihad will also attain greater standardisation, operational agility, automation and real-time visibility across departments and catering partners worldwide.

The implementation of Paxia Cloud will enable Etihad to modernise and optimise critical operational areas such as end-to-end catering management, asset and inventory management, as well as data-driven decision-making. The latter comes through advanced reporting, dashboards and analytics via Paxia Insights to support forecasting, operational optimisation and strategic planning. It will bring future-ready scalability.

The deployment of Paxia Cloud reinforces Etihad’s broader commitment to innovation and operational modernisation, positioning the airline with an integrated platform to support evolving onboard service requirements and future operational growth.

Tom Samuel, Chief Executive Officer at Paxia, commented: “Etihad is known for its innovation, premium service and commitment to operational excellence. We are excited that Etihad has selected Paxia Cloud as its enterprise catering management platform. By deploying our full suite of applications, Etihad will gain an AI-enabled digital foundation that supports its continued growth, operational efficiency initiatives and exceptional onboard experience strategy.”
