Rail operator adds Aperol Spritz to its menu

TransPennine Express (TPE) has added 250ml cans of Aperol Spritz to its onboard catering offering, including services to Manchester Airport.

The drinks are available across TPE’s catered network, with services connecting Manchester Airport, Liverpool, York, Sheffield, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow among the routes covered. The cans are priced at £6.75.

TPE said it is the first rail operator in the North West to offer Aperol Spritz onboard.

The introduction forms part of a wider focus on services to Manchester Airport, following the introduction of all-night trains between Manchester Piccadilly and the airport in May.

The overnight service operates roughly hourly throughout the night, seven days a week, providing connections for passengers with early flights and late arrivals, as well as airport and hospitality workers.

Andrew McClements, Customer Experience and Transformation Director at TransPennine Express, said: “Aperol Spritz has become synonymous with holidays, so we’re delighted to offer it on our services to Manchester Airport.”
