Viasat has announced an expansion of its partnership with Aeromexico. During 2025, Viasat will deliver an enhanced inflight connectivity solution across the Mexican airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.
The fleet has eight B787-8s, which will be equipped first, and nine B787-9s. The upgrade will equip Aeromexico’s Dreamliner fleet with Viasat’s high-capacity Ka-band network on transatlantic routes from hubs including Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam, Rome, London, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile.
Through the Viasat Advertising platform, passengers can expect to ad-enabled complementary connectivity sessions. The online experience will facilitate streaming, browsing and real-time communication during flights.
Viasat has provided inflight connectivity on select Aeromexico aircraft since 2018.
Don Buchman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Commercial Aviation at Viasat, said: “It’s our mission to bring a consistently high-quality and content-rich in-flight Wi-Fi experience to passengers around the world, and we’re looking forward to delivering this onboard additional Aeromexico aircraft.”
Andrés Castañeda, Chief of Digital and Customer Experience Officer and Executive Vice President of Aeromexico, commented: “Viasat is a trusted provider for Aeromexico, and with a resilient, multi-orbit satellite roadmap, we look forward to continuing to work together to bring high-quality in-flight Wi-Fi to our customers long into the future.”
