TAP Air Portugal and Portugália Airlines have been awarded an IATA Environmental Assessment (IEnvA) certification.
Based on the ISO 14001 standard, the certification implements policies that minimise the environmental impact of flight operations and facilities, such as corporate buildings in Portugal.
One such plan is TAP’s project to recycle waste generated onboard flights arriving in Lisbon. Cabin crew will play a crucial role in the initiative.
Reusable and recyclable utensils have also been introduced in Economy class on its long-haul flights.
This year, TAP will use Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) when refuelling at airports in the European Union, the UK and Switzerland. The fuel must be at least 2% SAF.
