SWISS refreshes long-haul in Business and First

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is offering a refreshed inflight service to its long-haul passengers in Business and First class cabins. The service encompasses sophisticated culinary choices, carefully selected onboard comfort items and caring details which deliver the best of Swiss hospitality.

SWISS Business experience

The new SWISS Business long-haul experience begins with the serving of a typically Swiss aperitif after takeoff, once cruise level has been reached.

The traditional nuts snack is supplemented by a new, fresh element and accompanied by a choice of beverages, including the SWISS Alpine Essence signature cocktail created exclusively for the airline.

This is followed by a meal service, with each course separately presented, including the addition of a soup course.

An expanded range of cheeses and desserts, and a new selection of pralines from Aeschbach Chocolatier round off the meal service.

In addition to new bed linen, on flights of more than 10 hours, passengers are offered a Muntagnard sleepshirt and an additional seat cover for greater comfort.

Amenity kits in changing designs have been co-developed with the Swiss VIU brand and care items feature the Alpine Valley signature scent specially created for SWISS by the Swiss-based Soeder company.

High-quality headphones ensure optimum sound for the inflight entertainment programme.

A broader selection of beverages and snacks is available between meals throughout flights.

SWISS First long-haul flights

There is a greater focus on exclusivity and individuality for SWISS First passengers.

The food and beverage service is now presented on fine porcelain with a modern design and black tableware elements.

Before departure apéro flûtes from Confiserie Sprüngli are accompanied by a welcome drink. The beverage selection includes the SWISS Alpine Essence signature cocktail.

The inflight service commences with an amuse bouche trio, followed by a selection of cold delicatessen items served from a trolley at the passenger’s seat.

A seasonal sorbet provides a refreshing intermezzo and a cheese course featuring five types of cheese and an expanded choice of breads rounds off the main meal.

The first service concludes with a selection of pralines and Sprüngli offerings.

Afternoon tea is now also offered on select daytime flights, with a range of teas as well as sweet and savoury treats.

Pyjamas and slippers by Zimmerli of Switzerland are accompanied by quality bed linen and a new amenity kit featuring Sisley care and comfort items. Further products from Swiss brands such as Rohner and VIU are also offered individually by the cabin crew.

Soeder’s refreshing Alpine Valley SWISS signature scent will be in hot towels, pillow sprays,  care products and more.

State-of-the-art headphones incorporating noise cancelling technology for an optimum listening experience are also part of the First class experience on SWISS.

Heike Birlenbach, Chief Commercial Officer at SWISS, explained: “After introducing our remodelled SWISS Economy and SWISS Premium Economy service products in March, we are now taking the next consistent step, with the most comprehensive service renewal in the history of our company.

“Our new SWISS Business and SWISS First services are designed to provide all the ambience of a superior restaurant aloft, with greater choice, more individuality and an even firmer emphasis on Swiss hospitality.

“From our development of new tableware to our choice of new products and our adoption of new processes and procedures, everything has been carefully devised and comprehensively trialled.”
