AirFi has announced a leadership change effective from April 1, with Job Heimerikx, the company’s co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, stepping down from his role after 14 years. Laura Rösges is the new AirFi CEO.
Heimerikx has embraced a commitment to integrity and hard work. He leaves a culture built on respect, collaboration and friendship. He will remain on AirFi’s supervisory board.
“We all should cherish the relationships we’ve built over time in this dynamic industry. At the end of the day, we are all working toward the same goal,” said Heimerikx.
“I’m proud to have successfully grown the company to become the third-largest player in the market in terms of aircraft contracted, and now it’s clear that AirFi is primed for the next level,” he continued.
Under his tenure, AirFi has developed the first mobile payment solution for airlines, creating a portable streaming IFE box and patented window-fit antennas as a LEO connectivity solution.
New CEO Laura Rösges has experience in the airline catering, technology and retail sectors. She was previously Director of Global Onboard Retail Sales and then Chief Commercial Officer at Retail inMotion. Rösges has also held positions at LSG Lufthansa Service Group.
Rösges said: “Having worked with Job and AirFi as a partner in my previous roles over the last three years, I’m delighted to now join the talented team and steer AirFi into its next chapter of growth.”
AirFi’s structure and operations will remain unchanged. Heimerikx and Rösges have already embarked on a structured integration process, which will culminate with formal introductions at the 2025 Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany.
