Virgin Atlantic has teamed up with Plastic Bank to upcycle its inflight entertainment (IFE) headsets.
The headsets are made from Social Plastic, which means they were sourced from plastic waste collected from coastal regions and given a second life. They will be introduced across the fleet later this month.
The partnership will prevent over 11 tonnes of plastic waste from reaching oceans. This is equivalent to the weight of 562,000 waste plastic bottles.
Linstol and MNH Sustainable Cabin Services worked in partnership.
Plastic Bank stated on LinkedIn: “Collaborations like this drive real change, creating new value from recycled plastic and keeping our environment cleaner. Thank you, Virgin Atlantic, for making sustainability a priority.”
