Youmeal highlighted its food information automation systems at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) in Hamburg earlier this month.
The Belgian software company specialises in automating food information for catering teams, including allergen declarations, nutrition facts and sustainability metrics such as carbon footprint.
“We are a software company, specialised in food information. We help catering teams automate allergen declarations and everything related to nutrition, like calorie counts, traffic light calculation, for instance, as well as sustainability information like carbon footprint and other indicators about seasonality, origins and so on,” explained Victor Leygues, Sales and Marketing Director at Youmeal.
The company received positive feedback due to its role in enhancing food safety, particularly in airline catering, where allergen issues can be critical, explained Leygues.
Its services help F&B managers and sales teams by providing insights and arguments for RFPs. Youmeal’s software is currently used in 13 European countries and is expanding into the Middle East and North America.
“We have had a good reception here at WTCE. Food safety is paramount in airlines and inflight catering, so bringing this extra level of safety on the allergens declaration is welcome,” added Leygues.
