Sustainability is moving higher up the agenda for airline customers, according to aircraft interiors fabrics specialist Tapis.
Speaking at the 2025 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, Jason Estes, Tapis Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, said: “Sustainability has become really important. We have four product categories that all have sustainable aspects built into them.
“The big key for us around sustainability is sustainability without sacrifice. We understand that durability and comfort are two key attributes that our customers are used to and they’re not willing to sacrifice those things.
“So as we progress evolving our products to be more sustainable, it’s important, at least for us from a foundational perspective, to keep those elements that make our products special.”
When it comes to notable trends, Estes has observed an increased push relating to comfort.
“A product like ours that’s designed around the foundations of comfort, we’re seeing more airlines making decisions around them. That, for us, puts the product in our wheelhouse.”
