JetBlue introduces its BlueFirst cabin

JetBlue has revealed details of BlueFirst, its new domestic First Class cabin. Seats will be available to book this autumn.

BlueFirst features seating designed for added comfort, seatback technology with seatback ordering and premium amenities.

The first aircraft with BlueFirst cabins will enter service in 2026. They will have a two-two configuration with seats offering five inches of recline and seven inches more legroom than the main cabin.

The BlueFirst seating features Tuft and Needle’s T&N Flex foam. They promise passengers’ personalised support and responsive pressure relief throughout flights.

The 13.3-inch seatback screens will offer Bluetooth connectivity that enables passengers to pair their own wireless headphones to the latest version of the Blueprint by JetBlue inflight entertainment system.

Seats will have USB-A, USB-C and 110VAC charging as well as complimentary Fly-Fi high-speed internet.

Passengers will receive a blanket and a ‘snooze’ amenity kit on overnight flights.

BlueFirst will introduce seatback ordering and an interactive ‘Mixologist Mode’ allowing passengers to create a custom cocktail by choosing their spirit, mixer and flavourings, and sending their order to the cabin crew. The seatback screen can also be used to select meals and browse onboard products.

FirstFare serves meals in a customised bento-inspired box. On flights 899 miles or longer, each selection brings together an entrée, side and dessert. Options include the likes of sweet or savoury crepes and sesame noodles with beef or tofu.

Rotating premium snacks from brands such as Sockerbit, Tosi, Wholesome Bakery, Pop Daddy Snacks and Cape Cod Chips will be served to BlueFirst passengers.

Additionally, sommelier-selected wines from New York’s Parcelle, speciality coffee from Cometeer and Joe Coffee, and Smith Teamaker teas will be available.

Some of the beverages will be served in glassware from Fable, on artist-designed coasters created in collaboration with New York City illustrator Danielle Rose Fisher.

Joanna Geraghty, Chief Executive Officer of JetBlue, commented: “Customers are increasingly looking for more premium experiences and BlueFirst gives them an elevated experience that feels distinctly JetBlue, with thoughtful touches, caring service and great value. It’s another way we’re bringing our JetForward strategy to life and giving customers more reasons to choose JetBlue.”

“Traditional first-class food and beverage can feel stuck in the past. BlueFirst is our way of refreshing the experience for today’s traveller. From creating your own cocktail and ordering right from your seatback screen, to a thoughtfully crafted seat that offers responsive comfort, we’re making the experience more personal, modern and fun. Premium should feel special, not stuffy,” added Geraghty.
