Germany hosts the UEFA Euro 2024 football championship from June 14 to July 14 and Princess Cruises is planning watch parties on ships sailing in and around Europe. They will be held on four ships: Sun Princess, Sky Princess, Regal Princess and Caribbean Princess.
Games will be screened on the ships’ 300-square foot, 69,000-watt poolside giant TV screen. Additional indoor venues will be available in case of inclement weather.
Special food and drinks will be provided during games, ranging from themed pizza and curated cocktails to nacho plates and beer buckets.
Princess Cruises’ mascot, Stanley the Bear, will also be making special appearances for younger fans and youth staff will be offering football-themed face painting.
UEFA Euro-themed entertainment will include poolside sport challenges with prizes to be won for football-based trivia questions and a specially curated pre-game playlist.
In July, Sky Princess will host two high-profile football celebrities as part of Princess Cruises’ UK guest speakers programme. Peter Beardsley MBE, who represented England 59 times between 1986 and 1996, will be onboard Sky Princess from July 9 to 13. Former England defender Terry Butcher will join a seven-night Norwegian Fjords cruise, departing Southampton on July 13, and be on Sky Princess during the UEFA Euro Final
“Football fans cruising with Princess won’t have to worry about missing a single moment of the UEFA European Championship excitement. We know how important these matches are to our guests and we’re thrilled to provide an exceptional viewing experience at sea, allowing them to enjoy the games with fellow fans while also savouring their cruise holiday,” said Eithne Williamson, Vice President of Princess Cruises UK and Europe.
