TAP Air Portugal and the ART&TUR International Tourism Film Festival have renewed their partnership for the fifth consecutive year, meaning that the festival’s winning videos will be featured onboard the airline.
Since the partnership began in 2022, more than 50 films have been selected for TAP’s inflight entertainment platform, enabling passengers to watch films about destinations across Portugal.
For TAP, the inclusion of this content “reinforces its commitment to diverse cultural programming and to promoting destinations through inspiring audiovisual storytelling, enriching the entertainment experience for its passengers.”
The partnership represents an opportunity for filmmakers and producers from around the world to reach a global audience, strengthening the connection between cinema, tourism and the travel experience.
The 2026 edition of the ART&TUR Festival will take place from October 27 to 30 in Ovar, in Portugal’s Aveiro district. Professionals involved in cinema, tourism and communication will gather to celebrate the best films dedicated to destinations and travel experiences.
ART&TUR is a member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), the global network that brings together leading tourism film festivals and annually defines the world’s best tourism films through its international ranking.
Mariana Calaça Baptista, Director of ART&TUR, commented: “These films are especially engaging for air passengers as they offer inspiring, visually rich stories that connect audiences with diverse cultures, heritage, landscape and gastronomy in each destination. In the moment of travelling, passengers can experience a curated selection of the very best Portuguese promotional films produced each year – showcasing the vast territory of Portugal through a unique mapping created by film – turning travel time into a meaningful and immersive experience and working as a dynamic travel guide.”
Hugo Marcos, Secretary-General of CIFFT, said: “This collaboration between our member ART&TUR and TAP Air Portugal is particularly significant, as it places tourism storytelling within a highly contextual moment of the travel journey, increasing both its relevance and impact. It also reinforces ART&TUR’s role as a festival that not only recognises excellence but actively extends the visibility of its award-winning productions to international audiences.”
