Packaging platform to cut complexity and emissions

Go-Pak Group has introduced a global trading platform to simplify international procurement for foodservice brands, including onboard suppliers. It aims to cut supply chain complexity relating to packaging.

The platform, Go-Pak International, allows customers to consolidate orders from multiple suppliers into a single shipment, streamlining logistics. Mixed containers can then be shipped with products from Go-Pak’s manufacturing network, its parent company SCG Packaging and approved third-party suppliers.

Container consolidation can reduce the volume of secondary transport packaging, such as pallets, protective materials and shrink wrap used during distribution.

The approach could also support the industry’s sustainability goals by helping to lower the freight emissions associated with international packaging supply chains.

Karl Smith, Operations Director (Vietnam) at Go-Pak Group, said: “Vietnam plays a critical role in our global supply model, allowing us to consolidate products closer to source, reduce complexity for our global customers and create a more efficient and scalable way to deliver packaging worldwide.”
