Passenger rewards programme Green Points, from InfiniteLives, will be offered on multiple flights across 100 days of trials starting in October.
The programme rewards travellers for zero waste behaviour, engaging with them directly before travel to involve them in waste and weight reduction choices for their forthcoming flight.
Green Points are awarded when the commitment to reduce weight and waste, firm up menu selections, and opt out of not required amenities.
Recent trials on Saudia, on the Jeddah-Madrid route, showed good enthusiasm from the passengers involved. Fuel cost savings achieved and a fall in the kilograms of food waste offloaded have encouraged InfiniteLives to expand the trials and involve more airlines.
The next programme of 100 days of trials will commence in October. Two airlines have expressed their commitment and further trial airline partners are welcome.
The goal is to involve 100,000 airline guests in the Green Points rewards for zero waste initiative.
