Margaritas and more onboard Delta in 2024

Delta Air Lines has revealed details of its refreshed onboard food and beverage offering, including international meals, Tip Top Margaritas and new pre-ordering capabilities.

“We want our onboard food and beverage service to be as exciting as the destinations to which we fly,” said Kristen Manion Taylor, Senior Vice President of In-Flight Service at Delta. “In addition to ensuring our products are delicious and served with care, we want to continually surprise and delight our frequent flyers with new food and beverage offerings for every palate.” 

Delta Premium Select (DPS) passengers will soon be able to personalise their experience onboard with the option to pre-select meals before their travel – one of several enhancements to DPS service that begins rolling out in March.  

International dishes

As of December 2023, Delta One customers flying to Incheon from the US have had opportunities to order offerings such as Korean braised beef short rib with mixed rice, mushroom, broccoli and sweet soy sauce; kimchee; doenjang soup with soybean paste; vegetarian bao bun with curried potato salad and pickled cucumbers; and more. The menu has been designed in collaboration with Peter Cho, executive chef and owner of Han Oak, Toki and Jeju restaurants.

Meanwhile, domestic First class customers departing from Atlanta from February can expect new flavours from Chef Mashama Bailey, winner of the 2022 James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding American Chef award and Executive Chef and co-founder of The Grey, an award-winning restaurant in Savannah, Georgia.

Starting this month, domestic First Class customers departing from Atlanta on selected flights will have their choice of several hearty breakfast options from Chef Bailey: scrambled eggs with hashbrown cake and chicken sausage gravy; frittata with spiced tomato sauce, fingerling potatoes and bell peppers; or Grey Market pecan granola with mixed berry compote and almond milk.

Lunch and dinner entrée options include beef short ribs from Atlanta-based Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q; glazed smoked chicken with quinoa salad; or baked mac-n-cheese with toasted garlic breadcrumbs and broccoli.

Delta One passengers travelling internationally on select flights can choose Chef Bailey’s creole shrimp with creamy grits and tomato gravy. Also available is a grilled bratwurst with braised red cabbage, herb mashed potatoes, green beans and a grain mustard demi-glace; cauliflower soup with a snipped-chives garnish; poached shrimp appetizer with cucumber yoghurt sauce and lemon, and a side salad of mixed greens with radish, tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette.

Raise a glass

The drinks menu has also seen a refresh. The ready-to-serve Tip Top Margarita has returned to domestic flights, and New Belgium Brewing’s Fat Tire Ale will return for customers flying within the U.S. starting February 26 2024.

Since December, main cabin passengers have been served Ethic Drinks’ sparkling wine – an eco-forward wine made with sustainable practices. The wine is now available on international flights. 

From this month, domestic First class passengers will be served a complimentary glass of Gambino Sparkling Wine before departure and while flying. This white wine hails from the Treviso area of northern Italy, in the land of Prosecco.   

Additionally, Quinta do Noval 10-Year Tawny Port is now available to international Delta One customers. Portugal’s classic Tawny Port wines are blended from cask-aged wines.
