KLM trials buy-on-board solution

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has teamed up with Immfly to trial its first buy-on-board solution.

Called Retail Onboard, the service will be trialled across three selected routes: Porto, Lisbon and Oslo.

The collaboration is expected to enhance efficiency, improve passenger satisfaction and boost airline profitability.

Its “accurate and seamless” crew app offers real-time inventory updates, intuitive sales tracking and an easy-to-navigate design.

The back office features centralised management and actionable insights for airline administrators. This includes streamlined inventory management, sales monitoring and reporting with data-driven analytics to optimise operations and reduce waste.

An end-to-end payment management system enables “fast, secure and reliable” transactions. Advanced reconciliation and fraud prevention measures help airlines to reduce declined payments by up to 90% and maximise revenue per passenger.

Pablo Linz, CEO at Immfly, said: “We’re tremendously proud to partner with KLM to bring their passengers and crew the very latest in Retail Onboard technology. This is an incredible opportunity to reinforce the power of retail to elevate the passenger experience.”
