As part of its fleet expansion strategy, Etihad Airways has taken delivery of its first of 30 Airbus A321LR aircraft. LR is an acronym for ‘Long Range’.
Etihad’s A321LR has high-speed Wi-Fi powered by Viasat’s technology. It will enable passengers to enjoy streaming, gaming, and browsing during their journeys, bringing ground-level connectivity to the skies.
The Wi-Fi service on Asian routes will be available from September 2025.
The A321LR has three cabins, including Etihad’s first-ever narrowbody First Suites. They offer private, enclosed spaces with sliding doors and fully flat beds. Each window-facing First Suite features a 20-inch 4K screen, Bluetooth pairing, wireless charging and additional space for a companion.
The 14-seat Business cabin has widebody-style seats in a 1-1 herringbone layout, meaning every passenger has direct aisle access and window views. The seats have 17.3-inch 4K screens, Bluetooth headphone pairing and wireless charging.
Economy has 144 seats with 13.3-inch 4K touchscreen displays, USB charging and Bluetooth connectivity. The cabin features enlarged overhead bins with more luggage space than traditional narrowbody aircraft.
