DFMi had added Italian snack and meal supplier, Dolce Carollo, to its portfolio of suppliers.
Dolce Carollo’s history dates back 50 years. In 1966 the founder, Vincenzo Carollo, opened the pastry shop “Miramare” in the Sicilian town of Carini, next to the historic castle. The shop started as a family business, but quickly became hugely successful in catering and desserts, and eventually turned to exporting delicacies, meals and desserts outside of the region.
The family started with cruise lines, cafeterias, and airport restaurants throughout Italy. Soon they began serving meals on Italian and European airlines.
A proud family business, Dolce Carollo has been passed down three generations, while continuing to share the dream to all of Europe and worldwide markets.
Dolce Carolla is sensitive in respecting the environment. Due to the concerns of eco-sustainability and industrial challenges, it has implemented protocols and adopted new counter measures to progressively reduce the environmental impact of their production. This includes the use of renewable solar energy and recycled packaging. It also utilises certified supply chains for the controlled production of paper in compliance with forests, such as the FSC standard.
The entire manufacturing process is in compliance with the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and IFS. Dolce Carolla has also obtained a Halal certification and is in the process of obtaining a Kosher certification.
