Delta has unveiled a new lineup of onboard products many of which have been chosen to reflect a ‘people-first and value-led onboard experience’.
Buying decisions have in part focused on the back-story of the products as well as the taste, and as a result the range highlights small businesses, suppliers from across the globe, along with woman- and LGBTQ+-led brands.
Featured products include tea from B-Corp certified Thrive Farmers for English Breakfast, Guizhou Green, Egyptian Chamomile, Pacific Peppermint and malty Earl Grey teas onboard; spirits from Du Nord Social Spirits, the U.S.’s first Black-owned distillery; an elevated wine offer from Imagery Estate Winery, led by award-winning female winemaker Jamie Benziger; and the Delta One amenity kits made by Mexican artisans in partnership with Someone Somewhere.
Thrive Farmers’ are independent growers in Rwanda, India, China, Egypt and the United States with an innovative farmer-direct model which gives farmers a true stake in the sale of their produce and a reliable, consistent income to support environmental practices.
Kristen Manion Taylor, Delta’s senior vice president of in-flight service, says: “Our collaboration with brands like Thrive Farmers builds on our mission to partner with companies who do good in the world by enriching the lives of the people who create their products.”
Also new is an exclusive canned sparkling white wine from Une Femme Wines made by women, in celebration of women, with a portion of all proceeds donated to charitable organisations that make women’s lives better. Premium cold brew coffee now comes from LGBTQ+-owned Explorer Cold Brew Company. The single-origin washed coffee from Ethiopia is fair trade and ethically sourced and Explorer partners with coalitions of farmers to ensure fair wages and sustainable development in their communities.
