Anuvu has upgraded its Dedicated Space platform, resulting in a peak speed increase of more than 35%.
Dedicated Space optimises network performance by dedicating satellite capacity to individual aircraft and passengers. This enables a low-latency and reliable internet experience.
Introduced in 2022, it is implemented on more than 800 aircraft across six airlines in North America and Europe. Those Anuvu-equipped aircraft have experienced a two-fold increase in download speed, a four-time increase in upload capability and over 65% higher availability during satellite and beam changes than Anuvu’s legacy network platform.
Anuvu also installed the ground segment for the upcoming start of microGEO service, which included the next generation of Dedicated Space. With the upgrade, Anuvu has already seen an increase in peak download speed of more than one-third.
“We’re excited to have such a positive response to the increasing demand for inflight connectivity performance,” says Mike Pigott, EVP Connectivity at Anuvu. “The results show extremely fast satellite handovers and the lowest latency of any GEO-based SATCOM system, meaning industry-leading performance for our airline’s passengers.”
