ANA has launched three specially painted Pokémon jets to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ANA International flights and the 30th anniversary of the release of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green.
Designs showcasing the Pokémon feature on the aircraft exteriors. Inside, headrest covers feature Pokémon figures while limited-edition commemorative cups featuring Pokémon characters and the 30th anniversary logo will be available on domestic flights in Economy Class and international flights in Economy and Premium Economy.
Cocktail napkins adorned with the collaboration and 30th anniversary logos will be on international flights in Economy, Premium Economy and Business. Additionally, original Pokémon products will also be available to purchase onboard.
Pokémon Jet Red features Pikachu going on an adventure with fire-type flame-themed animals from the popular Pokémon game series. Launching in July, it will fly on ANA’s domestic routes across Japan.
Jet Green will follow on international routes featuring a vibrant design with generations of grass-type Pokémon, complete with celebratory anniversary confetti.
Jet Blue is coming to domestic routes with launch dates to be announced imminently.
ANA wants passengers to “experience the excitement and fun of the journey with Pokémon” and provide the next generation of children and fans around the world with a new brand experience to express its gratitude for their support over the years.
It’s not the first time the airline has surprised passengers with a Pokémon collaboration, launching the world’s first Pokémon jet in 1998.
