ANA brings Pokémon fun onboard

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has partnered with the animated pocket monster brand Pokémon to launch themed flights filled with the fun and sense of adventure the popular anime character, Pikachu is famed for.

The specially-painted Boeing 787-9 aircraft ‘Pikachu Jet NH’ will take to the skies from June 4 featuring limited-edition designs on the cabin attendants’ aprons as well as on catering paper cups, napkins and headrest covers.

There will be boarding music that brings the world of Pokémon to life and commemorative gifts for passengers.

The launch is part of ANA’s ‘uniting the world in wonder’ mission which aims to create, unique and memorable experiences for passengers.

The Pikachu aircraft features a livery in which the Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza is depicted across the entire fuselage to create a vivid effect. Charizard, Latias, Latios, Vivillon and other flying Pokémon from all over the Pokémon storybook move together with Pikachu towards the shining rays of hope representing ‘the endless possibilities of an interconnected world’. Pokémon are also hidden on the aircraft-facing side of the engines.

The first service will be a Tokyo Haneda and Bangkok round trip.

The collaboration is part of The Pokémon Company’s initiative to build a range of travel experiences and international events under the Pokémon Air Adventures banner, connecting fans of its characters and games. China Airlines, Scoot, T’way Air and Skymark Airlines have also been part of this collaboration.
