American Airlines is introducing new wines from California in select premium cabins from May 13. Their introduction comes as part of the airline’s investment in its premium inflight experience and is the first phase of a broader refresh of American’s wine programme.
Guided by passenger feedback, the wine choices aim to elevate the onboard dining experience and complement the airline’s chef‑curated menus.
The labels were selected for their strong industry recognition, flavour profiles and alignment with the dining experience that American is continuing to build across its premium cabins.
In the Transcontinental Flagship First and Flagship Business cabins, Migration Chardonnay and Justin Cabernet Sauvignon are being introduced. From Sonoma Coast, Migration Chardonnay has a 93-point rating from James Suckling and 92 points from Wine Enthusiast and is served in more than 50 countries. The Justin Cabernet Sauvignon, from Paso Robles, earned a gold medal at the London International Wine Competition in 2024.
Truchard Vineyards Chardonnay and Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon will be served in the International Flagship First and Flagship Business cabins. From Alexander Valley, Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon holds a 94-point Wine Enthusiast score and was named the exclusive wine partner for the 77th Emmy Awards season. From Carneros, in the Napa Valley, the Truchard Vineyards Chardonnay has a 93-point Wine Enthusiast score and 92 points from James Suckling and a five-star rating from Restaurant Wine.
Further announcements relating to American Airlines’ wine programme will be made during the summer as the carrier targets elevating journeys for premium passengers.
