RTX’s Collins Aerospace has announced at the 2026 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, Germany, that three international airlines have selected its Helix main cabin seat for narrowbody aircraft deliveries. Helix seating is on display at the trade show at the Hamburg Messe.
The initial orders will cover approximately 200 aircraft installations across Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 family variants.
The Helix seating is currently in development. Shipsets are primed for delivery in coordination with aircraft near the end of 2027.
The seating is crafted to meet the evolving demands of narrowbody air travel. It has an ergonomic design for main cabin comfort and customer-selectable amenities.
Each seat provides passengers with additional space and reduces weight over previous generations of seating.
The Helix industrial design language merges form with function, reducing part count and complexity to improve passenger satisfaction while maintaining existing seating densities.
Premium material selection and architectural design provide cost-of-ownership advantages.
Meanwhile, a global aftermarket network ensures operational continuity throughout the product lifecycle.
