New dishes from female chefs on LATAM menus

New menus offered aboard LATAM flights between July 2024 and June 2025 will feature a selection of dishes adapted by a team of 16 South American female chefs. Working with LATAM’s culinary team and its catering partner, gategourmet, the team is collaborating under the Sabores que Transportan culinary programme.

Translating to ‘Flavours that Transport You’, the programme is designed to take passengers on a culinary journey across the Latin American region through the aromas, flavours and presentation of dishes, along with the stories behind them.

Every three months, the programme introduces a new dish created by members of the 16-strong team chefs. The dishes are available on long-haul flights departing from Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia in both Premium and Economy cabins.

The initiative seeks to give visibility to female chefs, who are becoming more prominent in the gastronomic scene in their respective regions. It also aims to enrich the inflight experience of passengers with the authentic flavours of countries in South America.

The chefs were welcomed into the Sabores que Transportan programme in April. Iconic dishes from each of the chefs, based on their own recipes, have subsequently been adapted into menus that will be served onboard LATAM flights into mid-2025.

The Sabores que Transportan programme is a commitment to diversity, inclusion and multicultural identity. It also highlights the value of local products in Latin America.
