Bar-ready fruit garnishes from Mixologist’s Garden

Mixologist’s Garden has brought out a new range of six bar-ready fruit garnishes designed to help cabin crew and onboard stewards elevate drinks served to passengers.

Innovative, visually appealing and versatile, the garnishes can be added to drinks without having to buy, store or prepare fresh ingredients. That can bolster efforts to avoid food waste.

The garnishes are freeze-dried to preserve the flavour and appearance of the fruit. The garnishes are lighter than fresh fruit and have a long shelf life when stored at ambient temperatures.

Once added to a drink, the Mixologist’s Garden garnishes quickly rehydrate. They can also be used as fruit dust and crumble or for stencils and decorating glass rims.

The range includes Lemon, Lime, Orange and Strawberry slices. Whole Raspberries and Blueberries are available too.

“Passengers enjoy and remember a beautifully presented drink, but a constant supply of fresh fruit isn’t always practical onboard and can be a challenge if space is limited,” commented Stuart Findlater, Business Director at Mixologist’s Garden.

“Convenient, easy to use and simple to store, these fruit garnishes are the answer to all of the challenges often associated with fresh fruit and enable flight attendants and bar stewards to add the finishing touch to a drink in seconds,” he continued.

The Mixologist’s Garden fruit garnishes are available in resealable 20-gram and 100-gram pouches.

Mixologist’s Garden’s fruits are hand-selected and freeze-dried by placing frozen fruit in a deep vacuum while increasing the temperature to drive the instant evaporation of the fruit’s water content. This process, sublimation, results in a freeze-dried fruit that retains shape, quality, flavour, colour and vitamin content.

Mixologist’s Garden works as sustainably as possible. The company’s fruit growers hold Global GAP food safety certification for agriculture and where possible, minimal road miles are involved in the production process. Freeze-dried fruit weighs 90% less than fresh fruit, saving fuel during transportation.
