Bodd, a technology company that sizes uniforms for large workforces at speed, has showcased its product at the World Travel and Onboard Catering Expo (WTCE).
The Melbourne based business has been commercial for less than two years and is already working with global brands such as United Airlines, Brooks Brothers and New Zealand Defence Force. It manufactures a machine, which employees can stand on to be sized in only 60 seconds.
The 3D scanner is self-serve and fully automated. The user presses a start button on a touch screen and a rotating base scans the employee from all angles to produce a comprehensive and personalised size profile. Over 400 measurements are generated and it can instantly size everything from jackets, to trousers, to hats.
Made in collaboration with Bosch, the tech can be shipped to customers on a three-year lease basis. Once connected to WiFi, it can be used immediately.
David McLaughlin, Co-founder of Bodd, said: “ Our scanners are ideal for any big company that needs to size a lot of employees for uniforms very quickly and accurately, such as airlines or cruise companies.”
