SWISS will be holding the fifth edition of its Flying Film Festival abroad long-haul services between December 1 2023 and January 31 2024. It is the only festival in the world to be held exclusively in the air.
The airline will be supplementing its regular inflight entertainment with the festival, which will feature 14 short films by filmmakers from around the globe. Awards will go to the two best films and a podcast will offer insights into the festival.
This edition will feature short films from Belgium, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the USA.
The Golden Wings and Silver Wings awards will be bestowed by an independent judging panel at the end of the Flying Film Festival.
A special Movies for Airplanes podcast will also be available on a handful of streaming platforms.
The festival, which was established in 2015 by filmmakers Francesca Scalisi and Mark Olexa, is focused on short documentary and animated films. It is intended to spotlight young and talented directors around the world, presenting their work to a broader audience.
