Re:Water, a sustainable aluminium bottled water brand owned by Berrington Pure Spring Water, has announced a £2m investment in a new, significantly larger production site in Herefordshire, UK.
The new site is five times the size of the company’s current facility and will be operational from February.
Re:Water is made from 100% recycled and endlessly recyclable aluminium, including the cap, and is designed to be refilled, reused and recycled. The brand sources its spring water locally in Herefordshire.
Demand for aluminium bottled water is being driven by a combination of consumer behaviour and commercial pressure. Consumers continue to move away from single-use plastic, but still expect convenience – resealable bottles, familiar formats and products that fit easily into everyday consumption.
Benjamin Rendell, Director at Berrington Pure Spring Water, said: “We’re growing at pace and were forecast to reach capacity at our existing site. This investment is about staying ahead of that growth. The new site gives us the space to scale properly – adding production lines, increasing stock holding and making sure everything remains in-house and under our control.”
The expansion follows several years of high double-digit growth for Re:Water, with the brand recording 60% year-on-year growth in December alone – a like-for-like month that highlights sustained consumer demand rather than weather-driven sales.
Re:Water’s spring and sparkling water is now stocked in more than 5,000 locations across the UK, with customers including Transport for Wales, which now stocks Re:Water exclusively.
The new facility also gives Re:Water the headroom to grow its range with a new 750ml bottle launching in 2026, following the brand’s new 330ml ‘mini bottle’.
