Inflight products supplier Plane Talking Products (PTP) has strengthened its 2026 charity partnership with The Winchester Beacon through a series of staff volunteering activities supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
Employees from the UK-based supplier recently volunteered their time to prepare and serve lunches at The Winchester Beacon’s community shelter, helping to provide meals while spending time with residents, staff and fellow volunteers.
The initiative forms part of PTP’s wider commitment to supporting its chosen charity partner through practical involvement, alongside fundraising and awareness activities.
PTP said the experience provided employees with the opportunity to better understand the work of community organisations supporting vulnerable people, while highlighting the importance of businesses contributing beyond financial donations.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with The Winchester Beacon team, their volunteers and residents,” said Alison Wells, owner and CEO of Plane Talking Products. “It has been a privilege to support such important work in a practical way, and we hope to return in the autumn to do it again.”
The Winchester Beacon provides accommodation, food and support services for people experiencing homelessness across Hampshire, UK, working with volunteers, businesses and community partners to deliver its services.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “Sitting together over lunch brought connection and conversation. It also reminded residents that there are people in the community who genuinely care about them.”
PTP supplies inflight products to airlines globally and said the volunteering initiative reflects its broader commitment to responsible business practices and positive community impact.
