Panasonic Avionics has announced a new partnership allowing it to market, sell and support OneWeb’s high-speed, low-latency LEO inflight broadband services to commercial airlines worldwide.
Panasonic Avionics will offer OneWeb’s global service standalone or paired with Panasonic Avionics’ GEO service, which covers 99.6% of the world’s flight routes. The move supports Panasonic’s multi-orbit strategy and will offer airlines more choice, with top-tier products supporting forward link speeds approaching 200 Mbps and return link speeds up to 32 Mbps everywhere, including polar routes.
This coverage and performance will improve the inflight surfing and streaming experience for passengers and will open the door to new, low-latency airline passenger experiences. Examples include live gameplay, video conferencing, and VoIP communication.
Panasonic Avionics will make its catalogue of cloud-enabled, broadband- connected applications available over the OneWeb network, including mobile phone connectivity, ARC moving map, ZeroTouchTM content management, and related services.

Panasonic Avionics has also unveiled the significant expansion of its European MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul) facility in Dundalk, Co. Lough, Ireland. The centre has been expanded in size by 500% to 23,000 sq. ft. At the same time, the workforce on site has been tripled.
The facility provides repairs, line maintenance, spare parts supply, and technical services and training to customers in the EMEA region and is Part 145, TCAA, FAA and UK CAA approved.
