Jet2.com is introducing new uniforms for cabin crew and pilots. The uniforms represent the first major change to Jet2.com’s cabin crew and pilot uniforms in more than 20 years, marking a shift in look and feel.
Developed with input from pilots and crew members over the past 18 months, the uniforms will be worn by almost 6,000 members of Jet2.com staff. Design workshops, wearer trials, focus groups and a catwalk session were part of the design process.
Major changes being introduced include the uniforms for pilots changing from black to navy blue. The modernised cabin crew uniform provides a better fit, has detailed red tailoring and with silver buttons.
Members of Jet2.com’s cabin crew can now choose between a dress, skirt and trousers. Waistcoats and cardigans have been introduced and a new apron has been designed by June Winter, a member of Jet2.com cabin crew based at Newcastle International Airport.
Jet2.com will continue its eight-year partnership with Jermyn Street Design (JSD) to design and manufacture its uniforms. JSD oversees the entire lifecycle of the Jet2.com uniform programme, from sourcing materials across their global supply chain to distribution across all business areas in the UK and Europe.
The new uniform incorporates fibres made from recycled materials and will be delivered to Jet2.com colleagues in fully recyclable packaging. Up to 80,000 garments from old uniforms will be recycled into new materials, with over 3,000 garments that cannot be recycled being donated to charity.
