Lufthansa has revealed a new uniform collection for its cockpit, cabin and ground staff, designed in collaboration with fashion brand BOSS.
The rollout of the new outfits is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, which will coincide with the airline’s 100th anniversary.
The collection marks the first major uniform update for the carrier in more than 20 years and includes approximately 40 new or reimagined pieces.
While the designs retain the airline’s traditional dark blue and yellow colour palette, the new line introduces a cape for cabin and ground crew as an homage to the company’s history.
To ensure functionality and comfort, employees from across all uniformed departments were involved in testing the styles and were consulted for their feedback during the design process. To reduce waste and allow reuse, the collection is built on a resource-efficient concept so staff can mix and match the newer items with existing uniform pieces.
Jens Ritter, Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Airlines, commented: “Our new uniform is far more than just a piece of clothing; it is an expression of our identity and a promise to our guests worldwide. It is our business card and stands for quality, reliability, and the unmistakable style that our passengers experience on every journey with Lufthansa.”
James Foster, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at HUGO BOSS, said: “Working closely with Lufthansa, we have combined tailoring expertise with aviation know-how. The new looks represent quality, durability, and our shared commitment to excellence. We look forward to accompanying Lufthansa in the next chapter of its journey – both in the air and on the ground.”
The phased introduction of the new uniforms is part of a broader brand modernisation effort as Lufthansa reinforces its position as a premium airline.
