Onboard Hospitality Magazine has appointed Bev Fearis as Acting Editor, effective February 3 2025.
While Managing Editor April Waterston is on maternity leave for the rest of 2025, Fearis will oversee the day-to-day running of Onboard Hospitality both online and in print.
She will be supported by Stuart Forster, Technology & Retail Editor, and Sheena Adesilu, Editorial Assistant.
Award-winning journalism
Fearis brings to the title just under 30 years of experience as a travel journalist and editor on travel trade and consumer titles.
She is Group Editor of Onboard Hospitality’s parent company BMI Publishing and has been with BMI for five years.
“I am so excited to be taking over the reins from April and to immersing myself in this fast-paced and dynamic sector,” says Fearis.
“I have already contributed news and features to Onboard Hospitality and have assisted with the editing. This is such a wide and varied industry and I can’t wait to learn more about it and to engage with the key players.
“I will, of course, be attending the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo in April so that will be a fantastic opportunity to meet people and to get up to speed with the latest developments. I look forward to seeing many of you there.”
Waterston adds: “Having worked closely with Bev for over five years, I have full confidence that she’s the right person to take over Onboard while I am on maternity leave. She’s one of the best journalists I know, and will be a real asset to the team.
“I’m excited to see her first issue land on my doorstep, and to hear all about her first visit to the WTCE – I’m sure we all remember our first expo and how awe-inspiring it was!”
As of today (February 3 2025), Waterston is now on leave, with plans to return in Spring 2026 (subject to change).
