En Route eyes North American growth

En Route is looking to expand its presence in North America in the next few years after targeting it as a region with strong potential for growth.

Speaking at WTCE this week, Managing Director Nick Wiley said the group was looking to double the size of the business in North American in the next 18 months.

It currently makes up around 12%-15% of its overall business, with the UK/Europe being the dominant market.

En Route is already working with a major US-based transatlantic carrier and believes other US airlines will benefit from its expertise in handling sourcing, supply chain and product for their Europe to US flights.

The US team, based in Houston, is now 12 people strong and En Route plans to grow this to 20 people in the next 18 months.

“We had to make a decision about where to invest our energy and resources and we recognised there is a need for what we do in the North American market,” said Wiley.

He said the company would be looking to source product from US suppliers, which meant it would not be potential impacted by increased tariffs under the Trump administration.

En Route has grown its revenue by 30% year on year since the pandemic, with a bigger jump in the first year following Covid.
