Emirates is celebrating Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim festival marking the end of Ramadan, with a series of new dishes and entertainment onboard and in lounges.
From April 10 to 13, the airline will serve regional flavours onboard. Passengers in Economy can find chicken biryani with crunchy fried onions, raisins and cashew nuts for mains and a halwa brownie with cardamom sauce for dessert.
Those in Economy and Business class can sample chicken mashwi el jeder with a spiced sauce, chicken hashwa and ghee rice with potatoes for lunch, followed by a pistachio and hibiscus namoura with raspberry curd for pudding.
First class passengers can expect hammour matfy with Emirati-style spiced tomato sauce and basmati rice for mains. Additionally, there’s a vanilla and rose mousse cake with pistachio anglaise and fresh berries for dessert.
In the A380 onboard lounge, Emirati pastries and Arabic coffee will be served.
Business class passengers in the Emirates lounge can find classic chicken kabsa and desserts such as date mammoul.
Those in First class will be treated to Arabic coffee, jallab and kamarruddin juice, as well as hot and cold Arabic mezzah or lamb ouzi.
New content will be available on the airline’s inflight entertainment system, ice. Highlights include more than 100 Arabic films, with new releases such as Amakor, El Saf El Akheerand Al Masafa Sefr.
Passengers can enjoy 46 channels of Arabic TV series too, as well as 15 channels of Arabic podcasts and audio books, and 500 channels of Arabic music.
