Canned Desi-style snacks from Curry Smugglers

South Asian-inspired snack brand Curry Smugglers is targeting growth in travel catering with a new range of premium Desi-style savoury snacks packaged in fully-recyclable aluminium cans.

The UK-based brand reimagines traditional South Asian snacks including Bombay Mix, Pakora and Chakli with a more contemporary, craft-led positioning.

The company says the concept was developed in response to changing consumer snacking habits and growing demand for more adventurous global flavours.

According to the brand, Curry Smugglers combines small-batch production, locally sourced ingredients and all-natural vegan recipes with bold branding inspired by modern craft beer culture.

The range is manufactured in Kent, UK, and packaged in lightweight aluminium cans designed to support sustainability goals through fully-recyclable packaging. The snacks’ lightness and standard can size adds to their suitability for service onboard.

Curry Smugglers said the products are intended to bring “foodie theatre” to hospitality environments while pairing particularly well with alcoholic beverages.

The brand’s identity draws heavily on South Asian street food culture and family heritage. Its name references founder Steve’s mother, who the company says would bring spices into Britain during the 1970s at a time when authentic Indian ingredients were far less widely available in the UK.
