Bucher Leichtbau AG (Bucher) is seeing increased demand for branding panels this year, due to customer demand for retrofit programmes.
Headquartered in Fällanden, Switzerland, the company produces galleys, self-service counters, baby bassinets, ARTICart trolleys and branding elements.
“Branding comes in all shapes or forms, either lettering, logos or then it’s illuminated with some structured backdrops,” said CEO Beat Burlet.
Bucher has expanded its staff and production footprint by 70% over the past 18 months and continues to focus on galleys and kitchen programmes.
“We ramped up quite a bit in terms of staff size and obviously footprint increased quite a bit over the last year,” added Burlet. “At the moment, everybody’s ramping up.”
But he said capacity challenges and supply chain issues remain significant hurdles within the industry, exacerbated by the ongoing difficulty in finding the right personnel for key positions, which has been the case since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The impact of geopolitical factors on the onboard industry remains uncertain but Bucher is monitoring developments closely.
The company is exhibiting at Stand 5D60 in Hall B5 at the 2025 Aircraft Interiors Expo at the Hamburg Messe.
