ANA to offer plant-based ramen onboard

All Nippon Airways (ANA) will offer plant-based ramen onboard its international flights from March 1.

Called ANA Original Ramen, the light meal will be available in First and Business class.

Passengers can choose between two plant-based variations. They are the Negi Miso Ramen (Megumino Hokkaido) on flights departing from Japan and Tonkotsu Style Ramen (Kaoru Fukuoka) on flights departing from overseas.

The Negi Miso Ramen features Hokkaido miso and vegetable broth with garlic and ginger, medium-thick noodles and green onions.

The Tonkotsu Style Ramen (pork bone marrow) comprises rich broth with a sesame paste base and vegetables, extra-thin noodles and traditional Fukuoka toppings of kikurage mushrooms and red ginger. ANA Ma-Yu style flavoured oil can be added, too.

Both meals will also be available onboard U.S. routes; Canada and Mexico routes; Europe routes and Asia and Oceania routes.

Tomoji Ishii, Executive Vice President – Customer Experience Management and Planning at ANA, said: ” Our new ANA Original Ramen offerings reinforce our commitment to continue elevating our onboard dining choices.

“These options offer a taste of authentic Japanese cuisine while accommodating various dietary needs of our passengers”.
