1KAN sets out sustainability roadmap for amenity kit production

Shanghai-based amenity kit manufacturer 1KAN Airsupply has outlined a sustainability strategy centred on both the development of lower-impact materials and long-term environmental partnerships with its airline and hospitality customers.

The company says it is expanding its portfolio of amenity kit materials made from recycled and plant-based sources, while also working with clients on longer-term carbon reduction and ESG objectives.

Among the materials now available for amenity kit production with 1KAN are recycled fishing net nylon, repurposed truck tarpaulins, recycled PU, bamboo pulp fibres and coffee ground composites. According to 1KAN, the materials have been selected to reduce reliance on virgin resources while offering durability for travel applications.

The manufacturer also offers biodegradable disposable travel amenities and says its production facilities are certified to GRS, FSC and BSCI standards.

Alongside material innovation, 1KAN says it is shifting its customer relationships beyond individual product supply towards longer-term sustainability planning. The company intends to support airline and hospitality partners with customised production solutions, environmental reporting and supply chain data to help meet ESG and carbon reduction targets.

Jeffrey Suan, Global Operations Lead at 1KAN Airsupply, said: “For 1KAN, sustainability is not merely a product design standard, but an enduring corporate development philosophy and partnership commitment.

“We insist on adopting circular manufacturing methods to deliver high-standard eco-friendly amenity kits for the industry. More importantly, we take every long-term client partnership as a key carrier of sustainable development, working hand in hand with global partners to promote the green transformation of the aviation and hospitality industry.”
