New exhibitor gets set for WTCE

Innocent Drinks will be among first-time exhibitors at this year’s WTCE. We hear from Isabelle Maratier, Head Brand and Portfolio, about the current trends in health, well-being and wellness in the beverage sector

Wellness onboard is becoming an increasing consideration for passengers. innocent Drinks has witnessed a big post-pandemic shift in the health landscape: the binary of healthy vs unhealthy is being replaced by nuance and holistic wellbeing. Narratives around health and mental health have transformed in recent years, with more open conversations being encouraged and easier access to information surrounding topics thanks to digital and social media.

At innocent, it is important for us to stay up to date with what our customers say so that we can ensure our offering meets their needs.

How have these changed over recent years? As a company, how have you responded to market expectations?

We have seen a shift from simple healthy living to living well, which is much more dynamic, zoomed-out and less binary. Consumers are embracing more choices, and they have a better understanding of the interrelatedness of mind and body, championing a holistic view of balance and variety.

This trend has certainly accelerated over the past years: there is so much information available which is easily accessible, helping people increase their knowledge. They are even taking things into their own hands, scrutinising brands and institutions, and looking for ways to suit their own needs.

Having access to so much information can be overwhelming, often contradictory and we see trends come and go. People absorb information through popular culture but really trust their peers’ opinions.

At innocent, we know how important trust is and therefore transparency is key. Our doors are always open and we make it very clear that we are available to offer as much information as possible about what we do and how we develop our products. This means we can hear what is important to today’s consumer and ensure we have the right offering to suit to the daily lives of a health-conscious consumer.

How do you ensure that wellness is at the heart of both your company and your products?

innocent Drinks was set up by three founders and from the get-go the challenge was clear: people needed to eat more fruit and vegetables. With this in mind, they created delicious smoothies to make it easier for people to have their daily portion of goodness.

Today, that mission still guides innocent’s company and culture. We are determined in making it easy for people to have a healthy amount of fruit and veg incorporated as part of a balanced diet and lifestyle.

What are you most looking forward to at the next WTCE event? Are you launching any new products during the show?

Consumers continue to strive to find a balance in their life and require many options to suit their choices, even when they travel. We are excited to be part of the next World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) to help emphasise the latest trends within the onboard food and drink market.

As our first time exhibiting, it is important that we can connect with potential and existing customers to offer a selection of great-tasting juices full of the right nutrients to travellers who are looking for some healthier options. We look forward to meeting as many customers as possible and collaborating with new partners who share the same ambition.

innocent Drinks will be exhibiting on stand 1A105 at WTCE (World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo) which takes place at the Hamburg Messe on 6-8 June 2023. For further details on exhibiting or visiting, go to www.worldtravelcateringexpo.com
