LNER’s summer menu features ‘Railway Curry’

London North Eastern Railway’s (LNER) First class summer menu features a special ‘Railway Curry’ that celebrates Bradford as the UK City of Culture 2025 also features on the menu.

All four LNER First class complimentary onboard menus feature new dishes. The Dine, Dish, Deli and Brunch menus differ according to the service passengers are travelling on.

The additions include a ploughman’s grazing box, which is the result of three local suppliers working together. The box from Middlesbrough’s On a Roll features a hog roast pork pie from fellow North Yorkshire supplier The Original Baker and caramelised onion chutney from York’s The Fruity Kitchen.

The Bradford UK City of Culture 2025 ‘Railway Curry’ is a vegan option and is available on the on Dish and Dine services from lunchtime. So too is an Aloo Gobi Channa Masala served with pilau rice and mini poppadoms.

Waffles with maple syrup will feature on the Dine menu for breakfast, alongside the popular Full LNER and Full Veggie LNER options. The waffles also feature on the Dish menu alongside strawberries and cream yoghurt and a custard Danish pastry.

Passengers travelling after breakfast can savour the new cheesy barbecue chicken croque monsieur, ploughman’s grazing box or a Caprese wrap with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and basil.

Salmon fillet served with roast potatoes and hollandaise sauce is among the choices on the Dine menu.

Sara Jenson, Hospitality Manager at LNER, said: “Summer is upon us, and we are proud to present a new menu that is perfect for the season. In collaboration with a range of local producers and suppliers from across our route, we’ve curated another delicious menu to help make sure our customers get the very best experience when travelling with us.”
