Foodcase is set to support the revival of onboard catering with a wide range of ambient meal options suited to buy-on-board programmes and return catering.
The company is showcasing both Western and Asian-style ambient meals at WTCE Virtual, developed with local chefs to bring authentic flavours easily onboard. Free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives, the meals are shelf stable to ease supply chain challenges.
The ambient option is positioned as supporting environmentally-conscious catering as it can help minimise food waste. Foodcase presents them as suitable for complimentary/return catering or buy-on-board, and also features a range of special meals for specific dietary requirements.
New to the mix is an ambient vegetarian breakfast with egg bite, small vegetarian sausage, potatoes and beans. The breakfast has a six month shelf-life. The use of vegetarian sausage was chosen to support meat-free sustainability priorities while retaining taste and texture.
The company also offers tapas platters of cheese, cold meats and olives; risotto, ramen and pasta hot pots; sweet and savoury hot snacks; and nuts and hummus snacks.
