Bluebox has joined Viasat’s Connected Partner Platform (CPP).
The digital service provider’s Blueview Retail platform is now available to airlines using Viasat’s inflight connectivity-powered suite of digital products.
Airlines will be able to significantly increase onboard retail revenue per seat by providing order-to-seat capability directly through passenger devices.
Onboard offerings are supported, including food and beverage and duty-free products. Airline-branded experiences, personalised retail promotions and Viasat-powered advertising placements are also available.
Blueview Retail can function as a stand-alone system or integrate within retail ecosystems.
According to Bluebox, airline deployments have demonstrated a 10% to 20% increase in retail revenue when order-to-seat is available.
It was found that 70% of onboard transactions typically occur through the system, which highlights passenger preference for the convenience of ordering from their own devices throughout their flight.
Kevin Clark, CEO of Bluebox Aviation Systems, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Viasat through their Connected Partner Platform. This collaboration opens exciting new opportunities for Bluebox to deliver powerful onboard retail experiences to airlines worldwide, proven ways to enhance passenger engagement and help to significantly drive onboard monetisation.”
