West Entertainment entertains on Porter Airlines

West Entertainment has been selected as the Content Service Provider (CSP) for Porter Airlines’ inflight entertainment (IFE) system.

Starting on February 1, the partnership will cover the provision of IFE on Porter’s Embraer 195-E2 fleet equipped with Viasat’s Wireless Streaming system.

“We love Porter Airlines and are delighted to have been selected as their CSP and be part of their journey as they take this next step towards enhancing the passenger experience with the offer of connectivity and IFE on their aircraft. We look forward to a very successful partnership,” commented Kate Groth, West Entertainment’s President.

“We’re excited about our partnership with West. After a thorough evaluation process, we found a trusted partner who understands our brand and our requirements while developing innovative content services. Their focus on quality and service aligns with our own values,” said Kevin Jackson, Porter Airlines’ Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.

As a result of the partnership, Porter’s passengers will have access to connectivity and the latest Hollywood and Canadian content. It also means that the airline has content ranging from the newest box office blockbusters through classic movies to the top-ranking television shows. That includes the latest boxsets, trending TV series, children’s programmes and documentaries.

Passengers have the option of checking out Mr. Porter’s Picks, which highlights a selection of favourites.

West Entertainment provides services to the airline and cruise industries, as well as local creative markets. As part of the partnership with Porter Airlines, West will manage curated programming, acquisitions, digital encoding and advertising-based video on-demand (AVOD) management requirements for Porter.
