Veggie ‘sausage’ rolls to be served on British Airways

British Airways (BA) will begin serving Higgidy snack rolls during second service during its long-haul flights.

A take on the classic sausage roll, the snack forgoes the meat element in favour of vegetarian options.

Available in World Traveller and World Traveller Plus from June this year, it comes in two flavours – Cheddar and Caramelised Onion Chutney and Vegetable Samosa.

The packaging is recyclable and compostable, made tree-free and with zero plastic.

The units can be frozen and then put straight into the oven for a zero-touch experience.

Ed Pakenham, Managing Director at travel catering specialists MileOne Group, which is managing the roll-out, said: “I always think our job is to anticipate what our airline client wants before they ask, then allowing them to tell us exactly what they do want.

“That’s what happened with this Higgidy roll with BA that is now set to fly from June 2025.”
