United Airlines rolls out new safety video

United Airlines has introduced a new safety video focusing on connection.

Titled Safety in Motion, it features 17 United employees inside a life-sized airplane-inspired sequential reaction machine.

The video will debut on select aircraft from May 25, before rolling out across United’s fleet over the summer.

Staff members included are flight attendants, pilots, customer service agents, ramp service, tech operations, the network operations centre and reservations.

The video shows a ball as it makes its way through the sequential reaction machine, bouncing through the airplane-inspired set-ups as real United employees demonstrate safety procedures.

It was designed in collaboration with creative agency 72andSunny and production partner 1stAveMachine, as well as director Karim Zariffa.

Maggie Schmerin, Chief Advertising Officer for United, said: “Our creative concept was inspired by the idea of connection and the many moments of any given day that our employee work groups have to connect to be able to get thousands of flights off the ground and to their destinations safely.

“We worked across the airline to ensure our new safety video clearly and succinctly communicates critical information in a way passengers can’t help but watch – no matter their age, background or experience travelling.”
