The Uncommon unveils new English canned wines

English winemaker, The Uncommon, has introduced a new collection of wines that are available for onboard catering.

The three still white, rose and red wines produced from a Kent vineyard, are the first British canned wines of their kind. Beautifully presented, the wine is packaged in 187ml cans with Beatrice Potter-style designs featuring British woodland creatures dressed in finery.

Its crisp English white named ‘Clarence’ is a mix of pinot blanc and bacchus, while its pale English rose named ‘Penelope’ and made from pinot noir grapes is fruity and dry. ‘Percival’, the brand’s smooth red, is a light wine of the pinot noir variety too. The wine’s names were chosen by buyers.

The B Corp-certified company also offers white and rose canned sparkling wines and two spritzers including elderflower and cucumber white and mint and jasmine rose, and was the first to package UK wine in this format.

Commenting on the launch, The Uncommon’s co-founder, Henry Connell, said: “I’m extremely proud of the still wines we’ve produced and the launch represents a step forward in our commitment to quality, sustainability and innovation.

“We’ve always had our sights set on a top quality still range but we agreed to hold off until we were confident it would be the best on the market.
